"A dark, quiet descent into one girl's private watery grave, The Shape of Water, takes a collage of losses and everyday aggravation and turns them into a surprising poignant hope that eventually, even the darkest water clears, and those who drown in the sea of grief can also remember how to swim and find their way back to solid land."And, if you're familiar with VerlaKay.com, you might want to check out the little rejection story Anne posted. It must be rather sweet in light of the recent glowing reviews.

My copy arrived three minutes ago & it's even more awesome in person. LOVE the rejection story, Anne. I have a few of those to share one day. Sweet.
Thanks! The agent went on to say that he felt she (Magda) rose off the page and began to strangle him and he could not breathe correctly while reading it. Do you think I should send him a copy now?
Wow. That's a tough rejection. That Kirkus star certainly says something more realistic about the book, methinks. I was gripped the minute I opened it last night. What beautiful writing!
